A Commuting Meditation: Why you need one. A crazy morning driving in traffic, on the bus or the subway can quickly set up your whole day in a way that you’re not happy with. So, your off balance what now?
Commuting meditation, have you ever considered meditating during your commute? Don’t focus on the things that have just happened to you. You will further set up your day by stressing over what the rest of the day may bring.

Commuting Meditation Step One: Let It GO:
Ok, you had a rough start to your day. Your dog chewed up your shoes; you found a leaky pipe in your home; you and your partner had some not so kind words to exchange with each other. Whatever happened this morning to get you off balance, release it. Holding on to that tension during the commute is just going to add more bad energy to your day. You have plenty of time to deal with the issues later today or even tomorrow.
For now, do your best not to sweat the small stuff – simply let it be and center again on your breath. By giving yourself a break this morning is going to greatly enhance how the rest of your day, and will help you approach the situation with more grace later in the day.
Commuting Meditation Step Two: Listen To The Music:
Do you really need to deal with your smartphone or start texting and emailing right now? Take some time for yourself and start the workday in a few minutes. Listen to some meditation music or a guided meditation just until you feel a release and allow yourself to center and focus your mind.
Once again, take a deep breath, close your eyes and bring your full body into a state of calm and find just a little bit of peace at this moment.
Commuting Meditation Step Three: Set Your Intention:
Do you have a big meeting with the boss, an important sales meeting? Getting yourself centered and all your “mental ducks in a row” is essential, but it’s even more essential to see these situations in a positive light and set yourself up for success. Remember, your thoughts create your life, why not make it good for yourself?
If you find yourself with dread, fear or lack of confidence towards any activity in your day, try to breathe gently into the feeling you have about it, acknowledge that feeling then move it into a positive spin until you can see something good in the situation.
This seems like three small steps for a commuting meditation, but any one of them will make a big shift in the outcome of your day and have a very positive effect on your stress levels.
Cultivate a Positive Mind-Set Through Meditation
You have the ability to create your own mindset. Whether your attitude is positive or negative, is up to you. The ability to change your environment, your circle of friends, and attitude, is within your control.
Just like a computer absorbs raw data, so does your mind. Within your mind, a culture, within itself, has grown. Many people feel like they have no control over their own mind because this culture has become negative. The negativity is a result of past experiences, being in a negative environment, or being under the influence of unconstructive ideas.
Similar to a computer virus, you have to identify it quickly, to avoid letting it spread within your mind. You can also pass this virus of negative thinking to the people around you. As a result, you are spreading negative energy around, like “weeds in a field.”
Much like a farmer, you cultivate too. The energy in your mind is the crop, and it is up to you, whether it is weeds or wheat. If you have a farm and let a field take care of itself; you will be lucky to have any kind of a crop, from it. This is the same as the energy within your mind.
You have to option to pick quality seeds: Information, in the form of books, eBooks, DVD’s, CD’s, lectures, courses, workshops, and seminars. This is learning, for the sake of self-improvement, and it results in a positive mindset.
However, your work is not finished, because you must still reinforce the lessons, and keep everything in a focused order. This might be compared to fertilizing, watering, and “weeding the mind.” You have to work at it continually or the weeds will grow back. This, my friend, is meditation, and one of the reasons why we meditate, in the first place.

All you need to know when meditating is happiness is there, waiting just for you. All you need to do is follow the formula that creates it. You have to remember also that unhappiness is also out there, waiting just for you.
The way you respond through meditation will determine which one you will be experiencing in your life
It is not necessary to have all the ingredients of a project in hand at the outset. They will come at the appointed time. It’s only important that you move forward with the project that you have started until that appointed time comes. With the energy you create through meditation by moving forward as if you had the money to start your project, you actually put into motion a start of events that will lead you to your success.

Everything that you need for your venture is, in actuality, already out there, waiting for you. You only need to draw in what is needed. There is really nothing more to all of this other than just you remembering to keep an open mind and find that peace that is buried deep within you.
The result that comes with meditation that causes you to experience happiness, which then proves to you that this is how things really do work, and this leads you to soon believe that everything does indeed happen for your benefit. When you realize that is true, that is when the deep sighs of relief will come and that meditation can certainly help you see the light.
