Your intentions and goals give you tremendous control over the future. When you have a clear plan for your life, you can enjoy the life you have always imagined for yourself.

Your intentions serve as valuable guidelines, a source of self-assurance, and the impetus you need to make every day the best of your life. It's an intriguing thought experiment to think about how aware we are of the things we're doing and where we're going, even though we're all just trying to make it through life.

Thinking forward about what you intend to do allows you to better plan for and achieve your objectives. There is a strong correlation between having the intention to do something and carrying out that action.

Do you have a clear understanding of your intentions? The following is a list of reasons why you might wish to discover yours as soon as possible:

1. One's intentions have great power. When you intend to do anything, the first step is to organize your schedule and surroundings to allow you to carry out your plan. In essence, being aware of your intentions endows you with power that you cannot get through any other means.

2. Your intentions maintain a focus on the goals that you have set for yourself. You are brought back to your objectives each time you contemplate what you have planned to do next. If you want to lose weight, for instance, you'll find that you're constantly thinking about the things you'll do today to help you lose weight, such as the foods you'll eat and how you'll increase your caloric expenditure.

Because you always keep your intentions in the forefront of your mind, you are well-positioned to achieve them.

3. You can have intentions that are short-term or intentions that are longer-term. One example of a short-term goal could be to show up to work every day and perform marginally better than before.

One of your goals may be to improve your performance at work to the point where you are considered for a higher-level position. Make sure that you have both of these levels of intentions in place so that you may continue to move forward productively.

4. You're in control. One of the best things about having an intention is that it requires you to make a deliberate decision to achieve something. When it comes to having choices, it is up to you to decide what you want out of life and what actions you will take to achieve those goals.

You may accomplish what you set out to do later that day, week, month, or perhaps later in your lifetime. Because you can control whether or not you have intentions, and because your preferences, in a sense, drive (or control) your actions, purposes present an interesting dichotomy. You will ultimately be successful as a result of them.

5. Having goals and intentions in mind will boost your confidence. When you plan to do something, you feel hopeful because you are convinced that you will follow through with your plan. Consequently, you develop a healthy level of self-assurance in your pursuit of the ideal life. You have a strategy, and you intend to carry it out.

Your intentions give you the self-assurance to galvanize your efforts and live out your dreams with a burning desire.

6. Other people might look up to you as a model to follow. We are all seeking someone to look up to, receive direction from, and set a positive example for us to follow. Your intentions reveal a great deal about who you are and position you to be the person that others look up to as a role model.

As a role model, you have a greater chance of rising to the occasion and continuing to make powerful intentions in your life that will lead you to the destination you desire. When you are clear about your preferences, everyone else succeeds.

Your intentions and goals give you tremendous control over the future. When you have a clear plan for your life, you can enjoy the life you have always imagined for yourself.

Your intentions serve as valuable guidelines, a source of self-assurance, and the impetus you need to make every day the best of your life.
