5 Cannabis Myths Debunked + An Effective Meditation Method!

Spread the love and make the world a better place!

5 Cannabis Myths Debunked!Cannabis myths began when cannabis was an essential aspect of traditional healing history. The miraculous herb, however, was shrouded in skepticism for over a decade. Until lately, the movement of legalization garnered a lot of attention towards the herb. The overwhelming response on the market pretty much declared that the herb is ready to regain its lost glory.

Now that the taboo around cannabis myths and their use is diminishing, the compound’s popularity is at an all-time high. The common person is now willing to learn how to grow, when to harvest cannabis, and explore it too. With a rich history and a lot of libel due to socio-economic pressure, it is sometimes difficult to comprehend cannabis’s true nature of cannabis. For anyone who wants to look beyond generalized information, here is debunking five cannabis myths.

Cannabis Myths #1 – Cannabis Is Solely Meant For Recreational Purposes

Cannabis Is Solely Meant For Recreational PurposesThe healing elements in cannabis may come as a surprise to those who are accustomed to hearing that cannabis is a recreational drug.

Much of the literature portrays cannabis as a gateway drug. This limited belief system overshadowed the therapeutic benefits of cannabis for a long time. While many nations opened the door to the medicinal use of marijuana, it is still a schedule 1 drug in others.

Search testimonials online, and you would know how people worldwide are benefitting from the use of marijuana.

Yet, the idea of free use of cannabis is foreign to many places. It is only recently that cannabis started enjoying legislative acceptance in some parts of the world, but it has a long way to go. Several anecdotal studies signify the positive role of cannabis in healing chronic conditions.

Cannabis Myths #2 – Eating Raw Cannabis Will Get You High

Besides vaping and smoking, canna edibles are a rage among cannabis lovers these days. You can find a scrumptious range of edibles, oils, etc to impart to you cannabis goodness. Edibles usually kick in late as the cannabis travels through the digestive system before reaching your bloodstream. So, many like them for their slow and consistent release.

However, that does not mean you can eat raw cannabis to enjoy a similar effect. The benefits of cannabis can only be activated through decarboxylation. You need to heat cannabis at high temperatures to release its active compounds. Eating a few raw cannabis seeds or leaves will not get you high unless you heat or cook it.

Cannabis Myths #3 – Cannabis Can Cause a Memory Loss

You might have heard tales of people losing track of time after smoking pot. The stories of people forgetting the latest happenings are sure fun to know. But does it imply that cannabis can make you lose memory? Well, there is nothing much to worry about that. Weed use can temporarily alter your perception, but there is hardly a chance of you losing long-term memory.

Another common misconception that entrails cannabis is that it kills brain cells. Gladly, a comprehensive study conducted at the University of Louisville says otherwise. Evidently, cannabis won’t kill any of your brain cells. Cannabis use may get you euphoric and distort some short-term memory, but you would not get dementia from marijuana.

Cannabis Myths #4 – You Can Overdose On Cannabis

Surprisingly, there are rare chances of getting a cannabis overdose. The interaction points of cannabis are usually the CB receptors in the brain and central nervous system. Unlike opioids that affect the parts of the brain responsible for breathing. Cannabis would not interfere with the intensity of your breathing.

Hence, cannabis may not be life-threatening and believed to be less dangerous than other substances. Interestingly, there are no reported cases of death by the sole use of cannabis. Even the doctors and scientists cannot specify the quantities of THC that may likely cause an overdose.

Cannabis has more than 100 terpenes and cannabinoids in different ratios. Therefore, the suitability of the compound also changes from one person to another. Depending on your chemistry, cannabis can make you sick. Some may experience side-effects like paranoia or confusion, which is most likely to fade away.

Cannabis Myths #5 – Cannabis Will Make You Lethargic

Cannabis buzz is frequently termed as feeling ‘stoned or chill’, which commonly implies that it gets individuals to feel lethargy. In reality, you may feel anything from a relaxing sensation to an energy surge after using cannabis. All cannabis plants have unique and complex compositions depending on the ratios of terpenes, THC, and various cannabinoids. The Indica strains may unwind you for a slumber while Sativa can impart a wake-energy.

Cannabis and meditation

Effective Cannabis And Meditation Technique

If you find yourself struggling to relax and let go of your monkey mind chatter, cannabis is very effective for focusing the mind and not just spacing out on nothingness when combined with some meditation techniques.

Meditation Success: 10 Easy Guidelines You Can Use Today

You will want to explore different meditation methods along with different strains of cannabis. From object meditation to deep breathing mindfulness methods, there are so many meditation techniques that can help clear your head once you learn how to use meditation in this way.

Anyone can easily improve their mental health, learn deep restorative relaxation and concentration by embracing meditation, along with cannabis, by using the healing power of a clear and focused mind to soothe the soul.

How to use the “object meditation method” with cannabis

The purpose of “object” meditation is to sharpen your focus in the present moment, encourage clarity of mindfulness, and learn better concentration skills by settling your eyes on a fixed object in the room or outside. The focus on a single object allows for the removal of wandering thoughts and thinking patterns within the conscious mind, this allows you to clear the thoughts that will ultimately show up and assist in calming your mental chatter or what’s known as the “monkey Mind”.

The object for your meditation can be anything that attracts your attention or is pleasing to the mind as long as it’s a fixed object, we recommend you focus on something that is pleasant and soothing to your mind – common choices are the flame of a candle, a mandala or a piece of art, or ripples of sunlight streaming into the room.

Step one: Once you have chosen your object for meditation, sit across from it in a comfortable position such as sitting cross-legged on a pillow or just sitting in a comfortable chair. If you need to for health reasons, you can lay down in bed. Just make sure you are awake enough to complete the meditation. Use stevia or a hybrid strain that will allow you to focus during this process.

Step two: With the object in front of you at a comfortable distance, allow your focus to settle on all of the smallest details of the object you have chosen: notice the way the candle flame flickers and moves as it flickers in the breeze; examine the intricate patterns and colors of the mandala; deeply gaze at the sunlight on the surface of your object as it lights up and reveals the fine details that you would never even notice otherwise.

Step three: Don’t strain your eyes, simply allow the fine details of the object or image to wash over you as you rest your eyes and relax your mind. Allow your full attention to be focused entirely on the object. As you gently focus, allow your breathing to slow down naturally and deepen, focusing only on the object and your breath, and quietly view the object without assigning any meaning to the object.

Just be in the generous present moment and let it be what it is, taking in every detail of the wonder and mystery of existence that you and the object are in the here and now. Let your mind deeply relax and heal in this simple process of meditation.

Final step: Just simply observe the object until your mind is still, just the object and the in and out of your breath until you are ready to stop and go about your day refreshed and focused.
