The interrupted activity of the Muladhara Chakra causes a lack of energy, digestive problems, diseases of the bones and spine, and nervous tension among others.

The second Chakra definition, “Svadhistana,” is located at the level of the sacrum, three or four fingers below the belly button. This Chakra regulates the pelvis, the kidneys, and sexual functions. We also feel other peoples’ emotions through this Chakra. Symptoms of a malfunctioning “Svadhistana” are kidney problems, cystitis, and arthritis.

The third Chakra definition, “Manipura,” is found in the solar plexus area. This Chakra is the center for storing and distributing energy produced by digestion and breathing. It is responsible for vision, the gastrointestinal system, the liver, the gall bladder, the pancreas, and the nervous system. Symptoms of a stagnant “Manipura” are as follows: increased and constant worrying, as well as stomach, liver, and nervous disorders.

The fourth Chakra, “Anahata,” also called the heart chakra, is located in the chest area. We generate and receive love through this Chakra. It is in charge of the heart, the lungs, the bronchi, the hands, and the arms. Symptoms of stagnation include depression and cardiovascular imbalances.

The first few times you practice a Chakra Cleansing Meditation, make sure that you have an expert to guide you. Ideally, face to face, but at least with a guided meditation like the one above. You need to make sure that your Chakras are left more in balance at the end of the meditation than they were when you started!

Make sure that your spine is straight but not stiff

Close your eyes then take a deep breath and start to relax

  • Imagine that you are drawing energy up from the earth, through the Root Chakra and that this is building up in the base of your spine.
  • Then the navel Chakra: feel the concentration of energy building up around your navel and visualize a flow of warm lava out of this Chakra center.
  • Moving on to the solar plexus Chakra, let your stomach muscles relax deeply and sense the movement of the energy through your diaphragm.
  • Next is the Heart Chakra. Imagine your heart getting stronger with every breath. See and feel a bright light radiating out from this area.
  • Progressing on to the Throat Chakra, breathe in with force. Then gradually relax your tongue, shoulders, and neck.
  • For the brow Chakra, keeping your eyes closed, focus on your “third eye” (the point between your eyebrows). Endeavor to see this area even though your eyes are closed and observe what you are seeing.
  • Finally, it’s the crown Chakra. Visualize a beautiful lotus with a thousand petals blossoming from the tip of your head. As you visualize, see the color change from deep violet through to a brilliant white light.

When you chant these sounds you should be physically feeling the vibration of the sounds in your body…

The sound “OO” (pronounced like the oo in food): This sound is linked to The Root and The Sacral Chakra.

The sound “OH” (pronounced like the oa coat): This sound is linked to The Solar Plexus (inner sun) and The Sacral Chakra.

The sound “AH” (pronounced like the a in father): This sound is linked to The Heart Chakra

The sound “EH” (pronounced like the e in bed): This sound is linked to The Throat Chakra

The sound “EE” (pronounced like the i in machine): This sound is connected to The 3rd Eye and Crown Chakra

The sound “ZZZ” (like a buZZing bee), MM (pronounced like the m in mom): This sound is connected to The 3rd Eye and The Crown Chakra

When you are chanting these sounds it must be deep so that the vibration of the sounds can be felt in the PHYSICAL body in the body part associated with it.

For example, You should feel sensations in your brain when you are saying “zz”, and you should feel the middle of your chest when saying “ah”.

Opening Chakras On Your Own
