Acknowledge your feelings each day. Something as simple as asking yourself, “How do I feel today” can go a long way toward emotional self-care. Doing this daily reflection shows you’re aware of your feelings and also indicates you see them as important.

Performing a feelings-check ensures you remain in effective control of your emotions. There will be fewer incidents of flying off the handle, making sarcastic remarks, or getting annoyed and showing it. Stay on top of your feelings to enjoy a more fulfilling life.

Beginning Of Guided Emotional Healing Meditation Script:

Welcome to the guided emotional healing meditation. Find a quiet place to sit or lie down and get comfortable. Start by relaxing your body through a series of deep breaths.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Six. Release that breathe through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Continue breathing slowly as your breathing continues to relax you in this emotional healing meditation. Now picture a place in your mind, somewhere you feel completely safe. It might be somewhere you felt safest as a child. It could be a place where you feel safe right now.

Where do you escape when you most need a break? Was there a favorite outdoor haven? A favorite room of your childhood home or even a chair? Think of somewhere you know you feel safe and imagine that in your mind.

Now build the details of this place in your mind so that it looks and feels exactly as you last remember it.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Now that this safe haven is fixed in your mind this will serve as the safety zone as we continue through this emotional healing meditation.

Pay attention to how you feel right now as you get comfortable in your safe space. How does it feel to be perfectly safe?

How do your muscles feel when you are perfectly safe? How does your mind feel when you are perfectly safe? How does your stomach feel? What about your face, arms, and legs?

Notice how your body has changed as you experience this feeling. If at any point you feel anxious or uncomfortable, gently usher yourself back to this haven for relief. You can do this whenever necessary.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

When you experience an intense emotion, it may manifest in just one area of your body or in several. When you experience this emotional healing meditation, with each emotion I mention, I want you to notice where in your body you feel a reaction.

Notice what you feel. You may feel a sense of tingling or tightness, you may feel heavy or warm, it may be comfort, fluttering, comfort, or even pain. Just pay attention to your body as a whole, as well as the individual areas of your body that respond. Does your jaw tighten or do your fists loosen?

As I mention an emotion, I will guide you to experience the physical sensations associated with each. Notice how your body feels, where the sensations are, and what it feels like. If you break or feel yourself breaking, return to that safety zone you imagined earlier.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.

Let us begin this portion of the emotional healing meditation. We’re going to start with happiness. Think of a moment when you felt true joy. Allow yourself to indulge the feeling of happiness. What does your body feel like in response to the feeling of happiness? Where do you experience those sensations and how does it feel? Sit with those feelings for a moment.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Now I want you to imagine anger. Think of a moment where you felt extreme anger. Experience those emotions. What does it feel like? Where do you feel the anger in your body? Sit with this for a moment.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Take yourself to a moment of profound pride. What did it feel like to experience total pride? Where did you feel it, how did it feel in your body? Allow yourself to experience these feelings from this emotional healing meditation for a moment.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Now, in this section of the emotional healing meditation, think of a time you felt an overwhelming sadness. Let yourself experience this sadness and notice where in your body it manifests. What does it feel like and where do you feel it? Sit with this for a moment.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Now take yourself into an exciting moment during this emotional healing meditation. How does it feel in your body? Where do you feel it most? Allow yourself during this emotional healing meditation a moment to experience the physical sensations that stem from excitement.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Use this emotional healing meditation and imagine guilt in your life. Think of a moment when you felt extremely guilty and let it settle. What does this feel like in your body, where do you feel it most? Sit with the feelings of guilt for a moment.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Now, in this emotional healing meditation, imagine a moment of embarrassment and imagine where and how it manifests in your body. What physical sensations does embarrassment bring?

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Now imagine yourself in this emotional healing meditation by experiencing sheer joy. Where do you feel it most and how does it feel? Enjoy the physical sensations joy brings for a moment or two.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

You have experienced a range of emotions, now I want you to relax and allow the emotions that arise to be present. Notice how your body feels. Do not discourage any particular emotion. Do not encourage any particular emotion. Just let whatever feelings are going to arise to come as they will.

What is your body telling you?

What is your body telling you about the feelings you are currently experiencing?

Does it feel the same as it did when you imagined this emotion earlier?

Can you identify the emotion you are experiencing during this emotional healing meditation based on how your body is responding? Can you name any of these emotions? Just observe your body and let it do the communicating.

One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Four. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Five. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six.

Six. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven.

Notice how each emotion you have experienced in this emotional healing meditation and how these feelings can be useful to you. It is normal to experience emotions and when you are fully in-tune with your body you can allow it to guide you to positive situations. You can deliberately conjure up positive emotions to help you build a more positive life.

Imagine happiness again. Where do you feel it? Experience that sensation and remember it so you can conjure it when you most need to. Allow yourself to sit with the feeling.

Now you may return to the present by deep breathing as you slowly open your eyes and take in the room around you. Sit for a moment until you are fully alert. Return to your day feeling calmer and happier.
