Welcome to the guided emotional healing meditation. Find a quiet place to sit or lie down and get comfortable. Start by relaxing your body through a series of deep breaths.
One. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.
Two. Release that breath through your mouth while counting to seven. Imagine the tension leaving your body with every count.
Three. Take a deep breath in through your nose while counting to six. Imagine you are inhaling joy and relaxation.

Continue breathing slowly as your breathing continues to relax you in this emotional healing meditation. Now picture a place in your mind, somewhere you feel completely safe. It might be somewhere you felt safest as a child. It could be a place where you feel safe right now.
Where do you escape when you most need a break? Was there a favorite outdoor haven? A favorite room of your childhood home or even a chair? Think of somewhere you know you feel safe and imagine that in your mind.
Now build the details of this place in your mind so that it looks and feels exactly as you last remember it.

How do your muscles feel when you are perfectly safe? How does your mind feel when you are perfectly safe? How does your stomach feel? What about your face, arms, and legs?
Notice how your body has changed as you experience this feeling. If at any point you feel anxious or uncomfortable, gently usher yourself back to this haven for relief. You can do this whenever necessary.

When you experience an intense emotion, it may manifest in just one area of your body or in several. When you experience this emotional healing meditation, with each emotion I mention, I want you to notice where in your body you feel a reaction.
Notice what you feel. You may feel a sense of tingling or tightness, you may feel heavy or warm, it may be comfort, fluttering, comfort, or even pain. Just pay attention to your body as a whole, as well as the individual areas of your body that respond. Does your jaw tighten or do your fists loosen?
As I mention an emotion, I will guide you to experience the physical sensations associated with each. Notice how your body feels, where the sensations are, and what it feels like. If you break or feel yourself breaking, return to that safety zone you imagined earlier.

Does it feel the same as it did when you imagined this emotion earlier?
Can you identify the emotion you are experiencing during this emotional healing meditation based on how your body is responding? Can you name any of these emotions? Just observe your body and let it do the communicating.
