4 Tips To Stay In The Present Moment And Maintain Your Focus

Spread the love and make the world a better place!

Present MomentIt’s possible that you’ve already heard about the numerous advantages of living in the present moment. When you live in the present moment, you are not bothered by the numerous stresses of the mind. Being in the present moment, or referred to as the “here and now,” means that we are completely focused and aware of what is happening at this very moment in our lives.

3 Easy Ways To Be Mindful During A Chaotic Day At Work

However, if you’ve ever tried to remain in the present for an extended period of time, you’ll notice that your brain automatically travels back and forward in time. This is to be expected as you make the transition from thinking about the past to thinking about the present.

1. Stay In The Present Moment – It Takes Time and Practice!

Even the most skilled present moment thinkers experience periods of inability to concentrate from time to time. With time and practice, it becomes less difficult, but there will always be moments when you are distracted by something else.

28 Mindfulness Techniques And Ideas To Enhance Your Life

When you first begin to think in the present moment, you may be tempted to become impatient and frustrated, which is completely normal. Excessive frustration will only exacerbate the situation and is diametrically opposed to the goal you set for yourself. Instead, consider it a positive development. The good news is that if you’re frustrated, you’re probably noticing when your mind begins to wander and you can bring it back to the present.

2. Start a daily meditation practice

Meditation is based on the concept of being in the present moment, which is a state of being. As a result, it is an excellent practice to incorporate into your daily routine. Make an effort to do it at least once a day. In order to achieve the best results, try to meditate at the same time every day as well.

5-Minute Mindfulness Body Relaxation Scan Meditation

You can look up traditional meditation methods, or you can simply discover your own method of meditation. It’s best to get yourself into a comfortable seated position and then start following your breath from that position. Take long, deep breaths, one at a time, because you’re not in a hurry at all.

Meditation Success: 10 Easy Guidelines You Can Use Today

When you meditate, you have the opportunity to practice remaining in the present moment during a time when you are alone and free of interruptions. You’ll be able to distinguish between periods in which your mind is extremely active and periods in which it is more relaxed. Once you’ve mastered this awareness, you can start applying your newfound knowledge to other parts of your day in order to increase the amount of time you spend in the present moment.

3. Setting Aside Time for Yourself

Even though it appears to be a simple task, making time for yourself appears to be one of the most difficult obstacles to living in the present moment, according to research.

Inspiring Self-Acceptance And Self-Love Guided Meditation

It is possible that you are telling yourself that it is time to meditate, but your mind is nagging you to complete one more task before bedtime. Before you know it, you’ve come to the conclusion that you don’t have any spare time for yourself anymore. This is the point at which you must put your foot down and make it a top priority.

Practicing Meditation In Daily Life

4. Practicing Meditation In Daily Life

The next step is to put your newfound skills into practice while going about your daily routine. Of course, there will be times when you’ll want to refer back to the past or forward to the future. It’s normal to feel this way; however, make an effort not to allow your mind to wander too far from the present moment. Make your decisions in the present, taking into consideration the past and future as necessary. Then move forward with your life in the past.

4 Easy Ways To Master Meditation And Improve Your Practice

Using the techniques you’ve learned to meditate, try meditating during those times of the day when you’re doing something automatically. Instead of allowing your thoughts to wander while you are engaged in activities such as brushing your teeth or waiting for the coffee to be ready, try to remain fully present.

You Don’t Feel Anxiety in the Present Moment – “If you feel anxiety or depression, you are not in the present. You are either anxiously projecting the future or depressed and stuck in the past. You Discover Yourself in the Present Moment – “If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant, or weak, return to yourself, to who you are, here and now and when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.“ — Masaru Emoto

Be Like Children – “Children have neither a past nor a future. Thus they enjoy the present, which seldom happens to us.” — Jean de La Bruyère
