Daily Meditation: 7 Tips To Greatly Improve Your Practice

7 Tips To Get the Most Out of Your Daily Meditation Practice

We often hear a lot of celebrities talk about how daily meditation changed their overall perspective in life. Hugh Jackman, Katy Perry, and Heather Graham are just some of the stars who credit regular meditation to their calm state of mind. But before you jump into the bandwagon, it’s important to know what you can expect in every session.

Read the tips below to find out how to get the most out of your daily meditation sessions:

1.) When meditating, most people find it relaxing when they play nature sounds or soft music and light candles while they sit with crossed legs on a pillow. None of that is actually required. If you don’t feel like doing that, then don’t do it! Learning different meditation techniques is all about creating a ritual that you enjoy. If you want to lie down throughout the session or if you want to meditate outside then go ahead and do so.

2.) Don’t stuff yourself before you meditate. Eating a full meal just before your session will only leave you with a grumbling stomach while sitting cross-legged on the floor. If you are hungry, eat a light meal (soup or salad) an hour before meditating. If you are too full during your session, this will get in the way of body positioning and breathing.

3.) Keep your back straight through the entire session. Maintaining proper posture will not only maximize your lung capacity but you are also following the natural curves of your spine. This will allow energy to move properly.

4.) Several meditation guides dictate you to focus on your breathing but thinking about something else can sometimes help too. Imagining a peaceful image can also help you enter a deep state of relaxation. Some people on the other hand like to recall happy and loving memories.

5.) Keep your eyes closed to avoid distractions. By doing so, you are directing your focus towards your internal environment. This will also help you to become more aware of your surroundings.

6.) Our minds are used to assessing, planning and worrying. And from time to time we inadvertently think about negative events that disrupt the flow of positive energy. If that happens during your daily meditation session, try not to judge it.

Immediately bring your attention back to your body. Imagine your breath filling your feet as you inhale and leaving as you exhale. Move to different parts of your body until you get to your head. Breathing through the different parts of your body will certainly keep your mind off things.

7.) It doesn’t matter if most people meditate with their legs crossed while sitting on the floor if you are not comfortable in this position then choose a different position. Daily meditation should not be physically painful. It’s very important for you to find a sitting position that you’ll be comfortable in for an extended period of time.

Best Daily Meditation Techniques for New Practitioners

Best Meditation Techniques for New PractitionersMeditating is not easy. It’s not as simple as sitting on a pillow with your legs crossed and chanting “om”. It is a mental discipline that requires a great deal of concentration.

Meditation comes with a myriad of well-publicized benefits such as decreased levels of stress and anxiety, improved clarity of mind and creativity and reduced depression risks.

If you are a beginner and you find it extremely difficult to sit for a few minutes or hours with a clear mind, read the most common approaches below to help you get started.

1.) Mindfulness Meditation

This form of meditation is great for newbies because it is simple and completely feasible. The main goal of mindfulness meditation is to achieve a calm and stable mind. Calmness is actually a natural aspect of the mind and through daily meditation, we are just developing and strengthening it. With regular practice, you would be able to maintain a calm state of mind without struggling.

When doing mindfulness meditation, it’s important to find a space where you can have this feeling of sacredness. Don’t pick a space where there are too many distractions or you won’t be able to maximize your session. Your gaze should be downward, focusing a couple of inches in front of your nose. The eyes should be open but not staring. The key to this form of meditation is to ignore what is going on around you.

2.) Concentration Meditation

As the name implies, concentration meditation entails staying focused on a single point. You can focus on any specific thing such as breathing patterns, single word or mantra, sound or an image. This method is a little challenging for a beginner so you might be better off meditating for only a few minutes. Eventually, you’d be able to concentrate for longer durations.

In concentration meditation, you focus your awareness on your object of attention. Each time your mind wanders to something else, you have to redirect your attention to the object. By practicing this regularly, your ability to concentrate will significantly improve.

3.) Spiritual Meditation

If you like to pray then you will surely find spiritual daily meditation easy. This technique is based on communicating with your spiritual guide. To start, sit comfortably in a quiet place, close your eyes and focus on the way you breathe without changing it. This method moves you from a state of meditation to contemplation. Open yourself up in every way you know how and visualize something that can bring you closer to your guide.

Spiritual Affirmations Mp3 For A Life Of Divine Expression

Spiritual meditation requires you to surrender to your Maker and let him take over. Some people find it beneficial to listen to a recording or meditation tape such as “Peace Will Come and A Communication From God” when meditating.

The 5 Earth & Space Element Meditations to Help You with Your Practice

Earth & Space Element MeditationStaying centered during daily meditation can be a bit of a challenge considering the chaos that surrounds us in the world.

Reacting to the external chaos and other events that are beyond our control can lead you to have feelings of fear and anxiety.

Using the following five earth and space element meditation during your practice can help to relieve fatigue in both your mind and body and will assist you in connecting yourself to the universal flow of energy.

This daily meditation technique acts as a building block to the universal flow of energy and all material existence.

This may sound crazy, but just give it a try before you dismiss the concept.

Space Element Meditation

An expansive and empty element, space represents no resistance. It is the source of matter and allows growth and change to happen. In meditation, space signifies the space of your cells, breath, and thought. Space is the container for all the other elements and the source of intuition and wisdom from the universe.

Air Element Meditation

Air is a movable, dry, light, and dynamic element. It represents the potential of motion and empowers the ideas and goals with its flight. Air is viewed as the wind externally and as nervous impulses, circulation, and movement of breath internally. It represents a channel for clear communication and self-expression. It can influence your ability to act from a place of love and compassion, and when it is out of balance, jealousy can occur.

Fire Element Meditation

A hot, intense, powerful, and transformative element. Fire is viewed as fire or the sun externally, while internally it is viewed as the element that drives cognitive processes and digestion. In meditation, it brings confidence and courage, drive and creativity. In excess, it can manifest as hatred or anger.

Water Element Meditation

The element, water, is seen as flowing, movable, smooth, and cool. It can also be represented as a solid as it connects, nourishes, transports, and provides protection. It provides the ability to flow, adapt, avoid unhealthy attractions, and act selflessly. Water rules the blood, and other bodily fluids, as well as “cold” medical conditions like joint pain.

Earth Element Meditation

A heavy element, the earth is stable, rigid, solid, and constant. Earth represents all the solid matter and structure of the universe. It gives the human body its form including all the creation. It is grounding and calming and keeps the ego in check. It is the energy of bones, tissues, and muscles, and represents many illnesses like an infection.

When it comes to using the elements in your daily meditation practice, take your time and begin to observe the area around you. The more your attention shifts to explore these 5 element meditations the better you’ll start to understand and connect with the Universal Mind of Spirit and Matter.

Meditation Before Bed? Is This a Good Idea?

Meditation Before Bed - Is This a Good IdeaContrary to what many people believe in, meditation is not praying. Praying is conversing with God and meditation is more about focusing on something to achieve a calm state of mind.

The latter is especially beneficial for people who have a hard time falling and staying asleep. How so? For starters, regular daily meditation (even if it’s just 30 minutes per day) can convert poor-quality sleep into a deeper, more refreshing sleep.

Many meditators say that they always wake up feeling more energized. Additionally, meditating before bedtime allows you to sleep through the night and spend a longer time in REM sleep. This stage of sleep is crucial to the mental capacity of the brain. If you are REM sleep deprived, you will retain less information.

Should You Learn How To Meditate In Bed? Is It OK? Find Out HERE…

Meditation can also help those who are suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Several studies show that CFS patients have a deficiency of slow-wave sleep. By engaging in deep daily meditation, you are getting a heightened Theta and Delta activity in your brain. This activity is said to compensate for the lost time in the Delta state while you sleep.

Because of the inner tranquility and improved creativity that meditation provides, the frequency of vivid dreams will increase especially if you practice lucid dreaming. Meditating before bed will definitely calm your nerves and help you overcome certain types of insomnia. You can try the 3 techniques below if you find yourself tossing and turning in bed at night:

1.) Breathe from your abdomen and focus on your breathing patterns. This technique sounds really simple but it works wonders for those who can’t get themselves to sleep. You can listen to soft music or nature sounds to create a more serene atmosphere.

2.) Another thing you can do to help you fall asleep is to look at or imagine vivid images that symbolize peace and stability. Clouds, mountains and the beach are very common choices for guided imagery. You can do this form of daily meditation alone or under the supervision of a specialist.

3.) Mindful meditation will also help you fall asleep. Start by looking at one thing at a time. The 3 aspects of this technique are body, breath, and thoughts. Some people like to dedicate a small part or corner of their home where they can sit without distractions. If it helps, think about the issues that are bugging you then let them go. This is easier said than done but if you practice regularly, you’d be able to achieve your goals.

Getting a Good Night’s Sleep with Guided Meditation

Getting a Good Night's Sleep with Guided MeditationGetting adequate sleep is essential to good health. Sleep deprivation has been linked to medical problems such as hypertension, obesity, and heart attack.

It can also lead to psychiatric problems such as depression and other mood disorders. Many accidents have also been blamed on sleeplessness. The consequences of sleep deprivation are serious or even fatal.

Many turns to daily meditation to get a good night’s sleep. However, benzodiazepines and other hypnotics are potentially addictive. The risk of an overdose is high. Some people who use sleeping pills find that they need to increase their dose from time to time to get the effect they want until they become resistant to their drug of choice.

One tragic example of this is Michael Jackson, who used propofol, a powerful anesthetic, just to get some shuteye because sleeping pills were no longer doing it for him.

Fortunately, there is a safe alternative to hypnotics. Many people say that guided meditation is the best sleep aid there is. Most people find it difficult to sleep because, as they close their eyes at night, thoughts rush through their minds. Meditation helps you sleep by quieting and relaxing your mind.

When you meditate, you focus on the present, away from the worries of the future and from your painful experiences in the past. You are not bothered by negative emotions. You feel calm and a sense of well-being begins to grow in you.

Some of the wonderful effects of daily meditation on sleep have to do with the biochemical processes that occur in your body while you meditate. Daily meditation causes your body to release endorphins, which produces a feeling of well-being. It also increases the production of melatonin, a hormone responsible for giving you a restful sleep.

If anxiety attacks make you sleepless, meditation can also help you. It increases your body’s production of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) which helps stabilize mood and relieve anxiety.

Some people doze off during meditation. That is fine if you want to use meditation to be able to sleep. However, some people struggle to focus to get into a meditative state and because of this struggle, they end up not getting any sleep. If you want to sleep, you need to take the struggle off meditation.

The easiest way to meditate is by using a guided meditation mp3. Guided meditation is usually done with a recording. If someone is guiding you through the mediation process, there is no need for you to think about what to do next. It will be easier for you to focus if all you need to do is just listen to a voice.

One of the best things about guided meditation is that it is usually tailor-fitted to a certain goal you want to achieve. If you have trouble sleeping and you think guided meditation can help you, be sure to download a recording that is specifically designed to help people get a good night’s sleep.

Daily Meditation Benefits: 15 Tips For More Focus, Peace & Joy

daily meditation benefitsWhen it comes to daily meditation benefits from a regular meditation practice, I know sometimes I must sound like a broken record. I repeat myself again and again to my clients, my students, my friends, my family. And I’ll say it again. Self-care is not an option if you want to live a happy, peaceful life. Especially if you’re a sensitive, empathic, person.

1. Self-care, of course, includes the obvious daily meditation benefits. Daily meditation will be enhanced by a nutrient-rich-plant-rich-diet, plenty of productive exercises each day, and good hygiene. None are optional if you want to maintain good health.

2. To maintain happiness and inner-peace, self-care must include emotional, spiritual practices as well. My daily practices, which I share below, help me stay centered, focused, optimistic, connected, creative, productive, peaceful, and happy.

3. These are the tools and techniques that work for me to get the most daily meditation benefits. With most, I mix and match, depending upon the day, the amount of time available, and my emotional/spiritual needs. Some practices, such as Meditation and Gratitude, are non-negotiable, and I do them every day.

How To Meditate: 11 Power Meditations You Can Learn HERE…

Most days I usually do at least 2 or 3 of these techniques. Some days I do only 2. Other days I might do them all! Some are so quick, or so easy to fit in my day, that they don’t take ‘extra time.’

And, truth be told, when I don’t do anything, which does happen once in a while, I feel a little off, out of focus, and anxious. That’s why I use a checklist to track my progress. I’ve learned the hard way, it’s not worth falling off track.

Create your own plan to maximize your daily meditation benefits

Take any of the following techniques that work for you to maximize your daily meditation benefits, add in your own, and tuck them into pockets throughout your day. Choose at least one activity, such as meditation, to do each day, no matter what. None of the activities need to take a lot of time. And, as long as you’re peppering them throughout the day, you’ll be optimizing your energy.

4. Meditation I practice some form of meditation to be sure I get my daily meditation benefits each day, from 10 to 60 minutes. Some days I do two shorter meditations. Insight Timer is a fantastic, free, app that I use to time my meditations. It comes with an extensive library of sounds, bells, meditations, and music.

5. Abundance Meditation for this meditation, I use The Abundance Book, by John Randolph Price. It’s a little green book with 10 principle statements. I meditate on one principle a day for 15 minutes, for 40 days or more. This helps keep me in an abundant, spiritual, frame of mind.

6. Gratitude Meditation Closing my eyes, I meditate for 5 minutes on something for which I am grateful. It can be something that I already have, or that I would like to have. This sense of gratitude feels truly authentic and is one of my most important daily meditation benefits, and it feels really good.

5 Minute Guided Gratitude Meditation For Morning Or Evening

7. Goals I hand-write write my goals, in the present tense, expressing my gratitude for reaching them. This feels good, and it helps me keep on top of my goals. I write my goals nearly every day. This takes about 10 minutes.

8. Morning Pages Originated by Author Julia Cameron, morning pages are 3 hand-written free-flow pages each morning. They’re invaluable for clearing the mind and sparking creative flow.

9. Yoga or Exercise Exercising in the morning invigorates me for the rest of the day. Movement is crucial for efficient energy flow, lymph flow, strength, anxiety release, and more.

Energy Meditation – Naturally Energize Your Body And Mind For Perfect Balance In Life

10. Heart Breath I add the Heart Breath in whenever I feel stuck in my head. The Heart Breath helps me drop out of a busy, over-worked mind, into the peace and calm of my heart. It’s a great tool for reducing anxiety. 1 minute, or longer.

11. Uplifting Reading Somewhere during my day, I find time to read. Sometimes it’s work-related, but it’s always uplifting.

12. Uplifting Listening This includes music, podcasts, Hayhouse Radio, audio courses, and more. I like to listen to it when I make dinner. This helps keep me in a positive, optimistic, frame of mind.

13. EFT Tapping Method This is an any-time-of-the-day, as-needed, practice. EFT Tapping is perfect for releasing anxiety, tension, fear, sadness, or any other unwanted feelings that might creep in.

14. More Gratitude Gratitude is something that can be expressed in many ways throughout the day. In addition to my 5-minute gratitude meditation, I enjoy spontaneous moments of gratitude, or write a gratitude list, or a thank you note, or simply say thank you, thank you, thank you as I do something that brings me joy. Gratitude helps me feel more connected to the spiritual world. And, the more grateful I am, the more I have to be grateful for.

Developing Your Daily Meditation Practice For Success

Daily Meditation Practice

By Chris Le Roy

A Daily meditation practice without a clear plan or purpose is like going on a safari trip without a map. You will get lost very quickly and you will not achieve what you set out to achieve.

A daily Meditation practice should simply set out how you want to plan your meditation for the week and what you want to focus on during that week but be advised there are few elements you will want to consider.

Meditation is a fantastic tool in helping you address issues within your life and the role of the meditation plan is to help you set down how you are going to plan your week of meditation, what meditation types you will use for the week to get the outcome you are looking for.

Guided Morning Meditation: Visualize An Amazing Day Today

For example, the majority of people simply use meditation for relaxation which is absolutely fine but if you want to overcome what is causing the stress then your meditation needs to address the root cause of the stress.

Let us say that your stress is being caused by somebody who is being obnoxious and rude to you at work. The clear objective of your daily meditation practice must be for you to develop a strategy on how to deal with this person because you cannot physically change the other person you can only work on yourself.

The first thing that you must do is to read, that is going to the library and look up as many books as you can on “Dealing with Rude and Obnoxious people”. Read the strategies that they recommend. Check out videos by professional psychologists and watch what they recommend in dealing with this sort of person. Work out how you believe the best way is to deal with them and that is what you are going to meditate on.

Now to develop your daily meditation practice …

We should always start off with our daily meditation practice on a Sunday. I also recommend meditating twice a day, 20 minutes in the morning and at least 20 minutes in the night, preferably 40 minutes. Our meditation plan runs from Sunday to Saturday.

Your Sunday morning meditation session should simply be for the purpose of relaxing. The meditation session should include meditation techniques such as the Stillness Meditation Type, Deep-Breathing Meditation, or Numbers Meditation. The session should take no more than 20 minutes and could include meditation music to help you with your meditation.

Beautiful Guided Meditation For Relaxation and Healing Your Mind and Body

Your Sunday afternoon meditation session is the start of your reflective daily meditation practice on helping to deal with the person who is rude and obnoxious. The first 5 to 10 minutes should be spent on clearing your mind and working to get calm. The next ten minutes should encompass reflecting on the material you have read.

You should also reflect in that time on how you have reacted to that person. Literally, in your mind’s eye, look at yourself and the other person, look at how you deal with them, how you expect them to act, try and reflect on using the techniques you learned and how the other person reacted when you used those techniques.

To finish off your Sunday afternoon daily meditation practice spending five minutes relaxing before finishing your meditation session and clear your mind. Do not get caught stressing out about what might happen the following day. Expect the Sunday afternoon meditation session to last up to 40 minutes. If you find that you cannot meditate that long, then do not force yourself but do try to encapsulate all the material covered.

Daily meditationDuring the week, your morning daily meditation practice sessions are about preparing you for the day

The key issue here is to not work yourself up before you get to work. The morning meditation sessions should be 20 minutes in length and should focus primarily on stress relief and preparing for a calm day.

Towards the end of the meditation session take a moment to simply reflect on the key points on how to handle a rude and obnoxious person, by simply bringing the key points to the front of your mind. This is simply a refresher session.

Your daily meditation afternoon sessions are going to be a very important wind-down session from the day’s challenges. This will give you an opportunity to deal with anything that may have happened during the day. The first 5 to 10 minutes should be to focus on relieving any stress or anxiety that has built up during the day.

Meditation For Beginners: 20 Practical Tips To Quiet the Mind

Then once you have done that part of your daily meditation practice it is time to review the day. During your day, how did you cope, how did you deal with the person who is rude and obnoxious, did you overreact, what caused you to overreact, and so forth.

Then once you have identified those issues, reflective daily meditation on those issues for example, how you could have dealt with those issues better, what you would have preferred your reactions to be, etc. To finish this part of the meditation off, simply reflect in your mind the bullet points on how you want to react and deal with this person in the future.

Before completing this session each night make sure that you do five minutes of meditation on de-stressing and bringing the mind to focus.

5 Minute Guided Meditation For Stress and Anxiety Relief

Friday nights are important nights for meditating as you need to use relaxation meditation that night so that the stress from the week before does not ruin your weekend. You will need to do a minimum of 40 minutes of meditation if you have had a difficult week. This whole time should be spent undertaking relaxation meditation.

Saturday morning daily meditation sessions should be used to review the whole week and to reflect on how you have grown during the week. To review how you dealt with issues at the start of the week compared to the end of the week.

Whether you actually moved forward and addressed some of the issues related to the person being rude. This is also a good time to look and decide if during your reflective daily meditation practice if there are any issues you need to research that may help you deal with this person.

On Saturday evenings, I like to recommend people to take time out from meditating and to go out and enjoy themselves. During the week you have grown and now it’s time to simply take a break.

By developing a daily meditation practice plan as I outlined above, you are working towards the resolution of an issue and training your mind to deal with certain types of people more effectively.

Daily meditation planning does not need to be hugely in-depth, but having a clear plan on how to meditate will mean that your meditation sessions have more purpose and will help you in achieving the objective you wish.

While this daily meditation practice looked at dealing with an obnoxious person, it could be used for any purpose you require.

Why Should You Start Meditating Today? 5 Powerful Reasons…

Start MeditatingIn teaching how to start meditating daily, I have found that we humans (myself included) are the worst at delaying our instant gratification desires, even if it’s the best thing to do for our greater good. Will we ever change this behavior, probably not. But, here’s my best shot at it…

Why Should You Start Meditating Today? We all lead very busy crazy lives, but if you want to achieve life mastery, it is important that you feel a sense of balance, in your body, mind, and spirit. This balance is critical to moving forward with our truest desires. Take the time to invest in yourself. Dig deeper for the results you want and embrace the power of meditation.

Meditation Success: 10 Easy Guidelines You Can Use Today

It is vital that you start meditating on a daily basis. If you can meditate more than once a day, by all means, do so. Having a daily meditation practice generates momentum each and every day you meditate and makes your life experience more natural powerful, more compassionate, and effortless.

Here’s a beautiful concept of being human if you have never heard this before.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in The Joy of Kindness

Meditation is nothing more than a method for calming the mind, allowing concentration to increase and inner peace to emerge in the midst of a world full of turmoil. It can be a clear pathway to self-discovery, as well as a restorative and healing process for the mind, body, and soul backed by science.

5 Minute Meditation – Daily Morning Reawakening Session

To understand how this constant turmoil can negatively affect your mind, you need to look at your mind like a lake.

When someone throws a rock into the lake, or a boat passes through it, ripples and waves are created, rising until they reach the shore and disappear. Now imagine your thoughts are the waves inside your mind.

Just like throwing something in the lake will create ripples and waves, being regularly exposed to the negative thoughts and overthinking what happened in the past or the future, will distort your mind’s calmness and leave you
feeling anxious, tense, worried, and stressed.

28 Mindfulness Techniques And Ideas To Enhance Your Life

Unfortunately, in a desperate attempt to conquer these negative thoughts and restore calmness to our lives, we end up allowing our thoughts to control our minds instead. When you find yourself plagued by negative thoughts, anxiety, or worry, it is important to remember, that like the ripples in the lake, those in your mind will rise and fall in intensity.

Instead of judging your thoughts and trying to stop your mind’s chatter, you need to allow your thoughts to come and go, watching them float away. One way to do this is to commit daily to start meditating.

While there are many different kinds of meditation, they all share universal benefits. Here are five compelling reasons why you should start meditating and cultivating it as a daily habit.

The Ability To Gain Valuable Inner Peace and Start Meditating Every Day

Inner PeaceJust like your house, your mind needs to be cleaned. Every day, we fill our minds with negative thoughts, emotions, energy, and a ton of junk that piles up, filling our body, heart, mind, and soul.

These negative thoughts can come from many different sources; the media, interactions with other people throughout our day, the environment, our job, and even from within ourselves.

If you don’t participate in regular meditation, this negative junk accumulates inside of you over time. You end up becoming a living trash container filled with negative thoughts and emotions.

During regular meditation practice, you clear all of this junk out of your system, just like you do when cleaning your house. You get rid of the negativity and return that energy back to the earth to be converted into positive energy. After a single session of meditation, you are no longer bogged down by the turmoil in your life.

Self-Love Meditation: How To Truly Love Yourself

If you haven’t been able to start meditating on a regular basis, it will take time to remove the negativity. After several weeks of consistently practicing meditation, you will find that you’ve reached an absolute calmness in your mind. This calmness in your mind will lead to an increased level of self-awareness.

Increase Your Self-Awareness To Recognize Your Inner Desires

Every day, you have approximately 60,000 thoughts running through your mind. With these many thoughts running through your mind on a daily basis, it can be hard to know what you are thinking all the time. You may experience a constant inability to understand what you are thinking of or what you want.

Once you can start meditating daily it gives you the clarity to know what you are thinking and provides you with the ability to recognize your inner desires. Meditation brings you increased self-awareness.

Meditation For Beginners: 20 Practical Tips To Quiet the Mind

The thoughts in your mind include those that you are actively engaged in, as well as those that you aren’t conscious of, but are always there. For those that don’t meditate on a regular basis, they are only able to pick up on a few of the thousands of thoughts that run through their mind in an hour. Those who learn how to start meditating regularly can pick up on even more.

The more you practice meditation, the more self-aware you become. It allows you to become more conscious of what you think, the way you think, what you want, and what you feel. This kind of clarity is essential regarding your decision-making process and in your life.

Without the sort of clarity and self-awareness, you gain once you start meditating daily, you can become easily swayed by the external factors that surround you.

Become More Grounded and Calmer, You Become A Third-Party Observer Of Your Own Life

As you begin your meditation practice, you become more unattached to the physical world, and you start to observe
your own reality like a third-party observer. You begin to observe the kinds of feelings and thoughts that run through you. You begin to observe how people act around you, and to the things in your environment.

Meditation allows you to stop being ruled by your ego, and instead, you become more aligned with your higher self. This kind of detachment allows you to become more grounded, calmer, and level-headed. The chasm between the stimulus and your response to the stimulus grows wider.

With meditation, you can find the time to observe, process, and assess everything that is happening around you. In the past, there might have been events that resulted in consciousness lowering behavior, where you automatically
reacted like you always do out of your typical persona.

Practicing meditation will enable you to, moving forward, better deal with these events, without having your consciousness lowered. It allows you to handle them more objectively and in a more detached manner without having to worry about your ego interfering.

A Very Real and Possible Cure For Insomnia

Meditation - A Cure For InsomniaSleep disturbances, like having a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep affects millions of Americans daily. The daytime sleepiness that follows can leave you feeling unproductive and lousy and may even harm your health. A recent study has revealed that participating in mindfulness meditation, a mind-calming practice that focuses on breathing and awareness can help.

One of the main reasons why people suffer from insomnia is because of the bombardments of thoughts in their minds. This can result in dealing with constant stress, anxiety, and depression.

Regular meditation helps to clear out this clutter, allowing you to slip more easily into sleep and helps you to stay asleep through the night as well.

In addition to helping ease you more easily into sleep, when you start meditating everyday it helps to improve the quality of sleep that you experience. When you are asleep, your mind is sorting through all the mental clutter that you’ve accumulated throughout the day.

Taking the time to start meditating before you go to sleep helps to remove this clutter and set your mind at ease for a more peaceful rest.

Engaging in mindfulness meditation before going to sleep will help you in consciously resolving emotional issues that happen throughout the day, allowing your subconscious mind to become restful and alleviates the need for it to wake you up during the night.

The end result is longer and more restful sleep, allowing you to wake up energized and refreshed.

A Great Source of Inspiration For Your Most Powerful Ideas

A majority of us are probably only utilizing about one percent of our brain. Our physical selves and our ego are what controls this one percent. That means that the remaining 99 percent of our intelligence lives in our subconscious mind.

It is this 99 percent where our most powerful ideas lie. This is the part of the brain where we get our inspiration, our best solutions to problems, and our greatest ideas.

The power of the subconscious mind is what many great leaders used in their daily lives to find the clarity and insight needed to succeed.

“Steve Jobs is one of the two or three greatest icons of high tech, rivaled only by Bill Gates and perhaps Mark Zuckerberg. He’s mostly known for his legendary ability to create innovative, groundbreaking products.

What’s less known, though, is that Steve Jobs was a pioneer in what was once a rather esoteric “mind technology”–the use of Zen mindfulness meditation to reduce his stress, gain more clarity, and enhance his creativity.” By Geoffrey James Contributing editor, Inc.com

Those who work in jobs that require a significant amount of creativity, such as musicians and artists, have either learned how to access their subconscious mind or are naturally able to do it. Once you start meditating daily, it allows you to tap into that 99 percent, which is usually shut out from our physical lives.

Being able to tap into the 99 percent is like a secret pass that allows us to gain instant, new ideas, and solutions that we couldn’t have generated with our conscious mind. If you are looking for new ideas for something you are working on or are trying to work through a frustrating problem that you can’t seem to solve, try meditating on it and see what you get.

Through constant practice, you will be able to strengthen the connection you have with your subconscious mind.

After a time, you will find the solutions that have been generated by your subconscious mind are often more insightful and better than those that your conscious mind has created.

You Can Gain Mastery of Yourself, Become More Positive and Rejuvenated

Overall, the different benefits that can be gained by regular meditation will combine to give you a more fulfilling life. Meditation allows you to gain increased mastery of yourself, to enable you to become more positive and
rejuvenated.

With regular practice, meditation places you in the position of getting even more out of your life every day. Getting started on the path to a happier and healthier life through meditation doesn’t take a lot of work, just the motivation and dedication to fitting in regular practice.
